Responsibilities:

• Obtain complete histories and performs pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients
• Keeps the Nurse Manager and Supervising Physician informed as to the needs, problem areas and suggestions, which may be beneficial to service
• Focus on tasks and physician team support for Inpatient Oncology / Solid Tumor
• Consult services in the diagnosis and treatment of various ailments
• Interpret diagnostic testing including but not limited to EKG s, holters, echocardiograms, and stress testing
• Order and collect specimens for routine laboratory tests, examinations screening procedures and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products
• Effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, staff and members of the community from diverse backgrounds
• Facilitate collaboration between providers
• Provide and coordinate patient teaching and counseling
• Administer, order, furnish and/or prescribe medications

Requirements:

• Physician Assistant Certification
• New York State License
