In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals, Harlem is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center and is recognized for providing centers of excellence in the areas of Bariatric Surgery, Breast Imaging and Sexual Assault Forensics. Our teams provide services for nearly 213,000 outpatient visits, more than 83,000 emergency room visits and over 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Columbia University Medical Center.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Chief of Otolaryngology (ENT) work as the primary health care provider in collaborating with a licensed physician.

  • Assist in performing physical examinations, obtain medical histories, records pertinent data as required.
  • Arranges tests as necessary, performs rounds transcribes and executes specific orders, obtains appropriates authorization forms
  • Writes and signs preliminary discharge summaries
  • Performs basic/advanced life support.
  • Efficiently assist any covering physician with surgery-related cases in the Operating Room or minor procedures as needed.
  • Performs duties that are required to meet CMS and NYS regulatory guidelines for patient management.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institutuion
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
  • Current certification issued by the NCCPA
  • Minimum of one year experience in surgery
  • Must be ACL/BLS certified
  • Must have proven ability to work in a team environment and must be able to interact with patients and their families in a manner that instills confidence and facilitates communication
