Essen Health Care has an immediate opening at Essen Medical Associates, Ear Nose and Throat Department for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with ENT experience. In this role, you will be working under the direction of our Otolaryngology (ENT) physician.

  • Evaluating and treating new ENT patients
  • Performing physical exams, obtain medical histories and records
  • Office –based procedures
  • Initiates selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultation and laboratory examinations
  • Prescribes and revises medical regimes
  • Interprets findings and plans of care according to collaborative practice agreements and protocols in designated areas
  • Provides patient/family education and counseling in the areas of health promotion, maintenance, and disease prevention
  • Participates in team meetings and conferences to enhance an interdisciplinary approach to primary health care delivery,
  • Serves as liaison between patient and community, and acts as health care advocate
  • Identifies quality improvement issues and develops unit-based quality improvement programs, as well as standards of care and practice
  • Maintains a current level of knowledge relative to professional practice.
  • Acts as resource to staff and implements educational programs
  • Participates in the evaluation of the cost effectiveness of services provided
  • Performs related duties, as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and authorized by the state of New York to practice medicine with the supervision of a licensed physician

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited PA program required

Current New York State Physician Assistant licensure required

One to two years of experience as a Physician Assistant in Otolaryngology is preferred, however a motivated new graduate with excellent references will be considered

Master's Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program, required

Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND a Nurse Practitioner New York State
