Physician Assistant (ENT) Opportunity in the Jersey City, NJ area - Next to NYC!!

Must have some experience in ENT

Hours are M-F, 8:30am - 5pm

Salary in $120K range with full hospital system benefits

Otolaryngology Physician Assistant

DUTIES:

" Provide outpatient otolaryngology care in a private office taking detailed histories, physical examinations, development and implementation of treatment plans, prescribing medication, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging studies.
" Perform Flexible Nasopharyngeal Laryngoscopies daily to assisting the diagnosis and prevention of head and neck carcinomas, voice, and swallowing disorders.
" Perform nasal endoscopies, epistaxis control, nasal cauterizations and assisting in balloon sinuplasty procedures for the diagnosis and management of chronic sinusitis/allergic rhinitis.
" Management of inner ear disorders including vertigo and hearing loss while working closely with on-site audiologists.

REQUIREMENTS:

" Conduct physical exams and evaluate current health status.
" Maintain initial patient histories, document progress notes and discharge summaries.
" Responsible for interpreting laboratory, radiographic and specimen cytology.
" Review accuracy of patient medical records.
" Conduct consultations for various otolaryngology surgeries.
" Impart post-surgical care of patients, which includes: removal of sutures, bandages, aspiration of seromas and hematomas, removal of nasal packing, nasal irrigation and suctioning.
" Coordinate with physician, handle patient phone calls, schedule patients for surgery, review medical clearances, consult with anesthesiologists.
" Verify various insurance plans for procedures
" Managed infection prevention and control programs, familiarity with sterilization, disinfection and sanitation in a health care facility.
" Perform various non-surgical procedures
" Educate patients and family members regarding treatment process, post treatment guidelines and treatment follow-up.
" Licensed in the State of New Jersey
" Proper CDS/DEA License for prescribing of medications
