Non-profit medical center serving Horry County & surrounding counties 15 minutes outside of Myrtle Beach, SC is seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Physician Assistant. Role is 75%+ OR with rest in clinic.
The PA specializes in the care of patients suffering from conditions related to Orthopedics. The PA will be responsible for performing patient history and physical examinations, diagnostic testing, test interpretation, treatment, patient follow up and education on managing acute and chronic health problems. The PA promotes collaboration between the multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The PA will make referrals to physicians and other healthcare providers, document assessment, management, and education clearly and concisely within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Additionally, the PA is the first assistant in surgery and will performs first assist duties, including ensuring all needed equipment and supplies are present. The PA will conduct Post-op visits, write orders in the recovery room, talk with family and, performs post-op procedures and more. The PA will dictate discharge summaries, writes prescriptions, explains discharge instructions, and confirms follow-up appointments, as well as monitor, record and report systems or changes in patient's condition.
