Orthopaedic Physician Assistant Needed in Connecticut
- Seeking an NCCPA certified PA for locum coverage while perm PA is on maternity leave
- Must have an active CT license, BLS certification, and 1+ years of recent orthopaedic experience (no new grads)
- Coverage Dates: July 29 - Ongoing
- Will work in the orthopaedic clinic/office and operating room. Also, round/consult on the floor of the ED
- Average 20 patients per day with 1 Physician (follow ups or referrals from our ED)
- Schedule: Full-time (will consider either Mon-Fri or 7on / 7off)
- M, W, F – office hours from 8am to 12:30pm
- T, Th – No office hours but OR’s are running
- Weekend Call of 1:3
- Expectation is to round for 8 hours in the hospital and be available for emergencies
- Required Duties:
- Orthopedics- Elective
- Orthopedics - Trauma
- Admissions; direct and emergent
- H&P and Orders
- Medical management of peri-operative patients; progress notes, orders
- Discharge planning; instructions and summaries
- First assist- Total joints, Hand cases, sports medicine cases and trauma cases
- Familiarity of orthopedic surgical equipment
- Casting and splinting; wound care
- Emergency privileges available (credentialing will take less than 30 days)
- Local/regional candidates highly preferred (no flights)
