The Paley Institute has an EXCITING opportunity for Physician Assistants with Orthopedic Surgery experience!

The Paley Orthopedic and Spine Institute is an internationally renowned orthopedic center of excellence treating children and adults with complex orthopedic conditions. current conditions treated include pediatric and adult orthopedic and soft tissue deformity, general pediatric and general orthopedics, orthopedic oncology, foot and ankle reconstruction and preservation, and total joint arthroplasty with 6 attending orthopedic surgeons. Our staff is augmented with both national and international fellows as well.

Patients travel from all over the world and the United States to be treated by us and to receive therapy at our specialized physical therapy department. The institute has its own on-site rehabilitation department, which works closely with the outpatient clinic and surgical staff in order to provide comprehensive, specialized treatment strategies for our patients. The Paley Institute is on the campus of St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. Our own surgical center exists in the same building as our clinic; surgical cases per year average 700+.

Responsibilities:

Assisting in all preoperative and postoperative aspects of the clinical care of Orthopedic patients undergoing biologic to arthroplasty procedures. Such procedures include Matrix Autologous Chrondrocyte Implantation and cartilage restoration procedures, Femoral and Tibial Osteotomy, Anthroplasty procedures ranging from Unicompartmental to Total knee replacement.

Responsibilities include providing medical services to patient using approved patient care protocols, surgical first assist in all specialties, multiple-layered closures, limited hardware removal under direct supervision, clinic responsibilities usually twice weekly, first call responsibilities for practice patients only (no ER call). Weekend call includes inpatient rounding.

This is a unique and diverse practice, one that sees and successfully treats conditions not readily described throughout the world. In essence we are a "tertiary referral center" for orthopedic deformities.

Requirments:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Active or Pending FL PA license
