Astera Cancer Care is seeking a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant trained in oncology to join our Multi-Specialty Oncology Practice in Somerville, NJ.

Astera Cancer Care is an independent and physician-owned multi-specialty community oncology practice serving 12,000 new patients annually in Central New Jersey. Astera is comprised of 26 medical oncologists, 11 radiation oncologists, two breast surgeons, ten advance practice providers and three PharmDs who collectively have been caring for patients in Central New Jersey since 1981. The physicians have an average of more than 20 years of medical experience. The practice offers standard and advanced therapeutics including chemotherapy, biologic therapy, immunotherapy and radiopharmaceuticals along with a total complement of radiation oncology treatment options, including proton therapy, brachytherapy, and radiosurgery. The group provides coordinated services across the continuum of care from the diagnosis of cancer, through active treatment, cure and survivorship. Its specialists’ practice at 13 distinct locations in Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon, Mercer and Monmouth counties in New Jersey and Bucks County in Pennsylvania.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical services by managing the symptoms related to the specialty of Oncology and Hematology, assisting with communication and coordination of care, as well as developing treatment plans and goals of care. This includes collaboration with the physicians, medical team, care coordinators, and patient advocate. The APP role includes the assessment, diagnosis, and management of cancer or related disorders. The APP uses evidence-based literature and works toward evidence-based practice to effect a positive change in the health and healthcare delivered to the patient with a past, current, or potential diagnosis of cancer.
