Established health system seeks Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to function in an advanced practice role for Occupational Health, under the direction of the medical director. This person’s primary focus is for external occupational health customers, but is also expected to assist with internal employee health programs as needed. The APP is eligible for certification by the appropriate professional bodies to practice as a provider.

Position Highlights:

  • The APP assesses the health status of workers by interviews, occupational health histories, physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
  • Interprets data to determine needs or problems, plans appropriate therapeutic measure according to protocols established and approved by the physician.
  • Implements plans through independent actions, health counseling and collaboration with the physician.
  • The primary focus of practice is to maintain optimum health, prevent illness and injury, and manage selected acute or chronic health problems or injuries.
  • Participation in continuing education programs, serving as an educational resource person, maintaining practice competencies and functions.
  • The APP maintains effective communication relationships with hospital personnel, patients, employers and the community as required.

The APP is responsible to the manager. The APP works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team. Salaried position, working flexible shifts as the job requires. Prior Occupational Health experience highly preferred.
