Responsibilities:

Provide administrative and clinical supervision in the MFM Division. The supervisory position is to assist the MFM Division with maintaining industry standard regulations and monitoring of statistics for Quality Assurance. The overall responsibility will be to work directly under the guidance of the MFM Director in an outpatient office setting. Provide clinical care to patients with high-risk pregnancies as part of the OB Ambulatory High-Risk practice, in collaboration with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Division.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Perinatal PA Supervisor is responsible for Maternal Fetal Medicine and High-Risk Clinic intake evaluation and coordination of visits from consult referrals, community provider referrals and the MFM Ultrasound Coordinate and providing comprehensive preconception and prenatal care, including but not exclusive to virtual, telehealth and in­ person office visits, maternal fetal monitoring and interpretation, (Biophysical and limited US), and phone triage. Referral management and clinical care (under supervision) for the MFM Pre-conception practice and the MFM Gestational Diabetes program.
  • Provide obstetrical care in the ambulatory setting for the full spectrum of high-risk obstetrical patients, including but not limited to diabetes in pregnancy, preterm labor, hypertension disorders of pregnancy, routine genetic screening, fetal abnormalities, fetal assessment, and preconception
  • Provide appropriate prenatal and postpartum education and management of high-risk Provide procedures related to family planning, such as IUD insertion and LARC.
  • Perform general health assessments, OB assessments and physical examinations on high-risk OB patients and
  • Manage maternal-fetal complications according to protocol

The Perinatal PA Supervisor provides supervision and coordination in the specialty ambulatory practice of Maternal Fetal Medicine/Ambulatory WHS/Genetic screening and testing/Fetal Testing Unit. Work collaboratively with the Ambulatory WHS division, the Department of OBGYN Administrator, Physicians, Ultrasound Techs, RNs and PCA/Medical Assistant. Coordination of care with all of the MFM referral sources and clinical practices and the MMH Team metrics and indications.

Qualifications:

  • New York State Physician Assistant License
  • NCCPA board certification or eligibility
  • Experience in Family Planning clinical activities
  • DEA prescribing license
  • ACLS life support certification or eligible to obtain
  • Post-graduate (Masters degree) preferred
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required prior to hire
