Reading Hospital is seeking a PA with OB/GYN experience to help its All About Women Clinic. The Physician Assistant may order and interpret laboratory studies and radiological studies, analyze patient data and develop a treatment plan for the patient. The Physician Assistant will initiate treatment or treatment plan is being carried out, assess the progresses of the treatment, and alter the plan as necessary. The Physician Assistant may order, prescribe, dispense and administer drugs and medical devises, diagnostic or therapeutic medical regiments as designated by her Supervising Physician. The Physician Assistant shall know her limitations and refer to the Supervising Physician when appropriate and/or directed by the Supervising Physician.


As part of the medical encounter the Physician Assistant will:


Gather data medical history, physical exam, order labs or radiology data.Perform; complete OB/GYN Exams.Analyze and synthesize the data-assessment and forming differential diagnosis.Develop treatment plan-testing, medications, therapeutics, observation, referral and follow-up.Assess the progress of treatment and alter plan as deemed necessary.Work in cooperation with the Supervising Physician, visits reviewed and co-signed by the Supervising Physician. Reviewing and discussing patient charts as needed.All prescriptions are recorded in the patient's EMR record for Supervising Physician review.Comply with the laws established in the State of Pennsylvania that govern Physician Assistants.

Obtain Pap SmearsObtain CulturesSkin, vulvar, vaginal, cervical or uterine biopsiesTreat HPV/Molluscum contagiosum lesionsExcise skin lesions or drain abscessesInsert/Remove Nexplanon, IUD or contraceptive devicesInjections of medication/vaccinationsSuture and suture removal and applications of dressings and bandagesRemoval of foreign bodiesExamine patients with emergent and urgent OB/GYN problemsPerform Post-Partum examsPerform Post C-Section and Post-Operative incision checksCounsel patient in areas of family planning and contraceptionColposcopySonohystEndometrial BiopsyLimited OB Ultrasound (e.g. AFI, Fetal Presentation, Viability Scans.CPR and emergency management

The Physician Assistant may also:


Provide counseling and patient instructionsGive written and verbal ordersOrder, prescribe and administer controlled substances II-V with current/active DEA numberPrescribe and dispense drugs, pharmaceutical aids and devisesMay execute and relay medical regimens

Physician Assistant Supervision:

Physician Assistant will practice with supervision at all times by either the primary supervisor or an authorized substitute supervisor. There will reoccurring meetings to check-in with their mentor in their office starting at the following checkpoints: 7 day, 14 day, 30 day, 60 day and 90 day check


Should be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant program, with current NCCPA certification and current licensure in Pennsylvania. Previous OB/GYN experience preferred.
