Nocturnist (Advanced Practice Provider)
Details of the position:
• Hospital employed
• MGMA compatible salary with productivity and quality incentives
• Competitive Benefits to include 240 hours PTO + 1 week CME
• Work Schedule • 7 night block schedule, Monday – Sunday nights, 7pm – 7am
Training / Certifications / Experience required:
• U.S. Citizen
• Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
• ACLS, PALS
• Minimum 1 year experience in hospital medicine
Practice/Job Description
The nocturnist provider will be working solo, 7pm – 7am, Monday night – Sunday night. Key requirements:
• Treats all ages – infants to geriatrics (no newborn nursery care)
• Charts and records patient records on EMR system
• Reviews x-rays on PACS, lab results, EKGs, as needed.
• Consults with and refers patients to specialists as needed.
• Average patient encounters per shift: • Admissions = 5
• Rounding = 10
• Duties also include patient discharge prep
• Responds/Leads code blue events.
• Must be willing and able to intubate when needed [We will provide training.]
• Must be willing and able to manage ventilated patients [We will provide training if needed.]
• Must be willing and able to perform procedures (i.e., central line placement, spinal tap, etc) when needed. [We will provide training if needed.]
