Job Description

The primary focus of the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is to help patients with sexual health and treatment options.

Details:

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Provide consultation, diagnosis, and treatment of STD related medical conditions
  • Post Exposure Prophylaxis and Pre Exposure Prophylaxis
  • Examine patients, document medical history, records results and makes preliminary diagnosis
  • Administers or orders diagnostic test, blood work, and interprets test results
  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as immunization, injections, and managing infection
  • Exercises professional judgement regarding consultation with medical director concerning appropriate treatment
  • Develop and implement patient care plans
  • Instruct and counsel patients and record progress
  • Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by guidelines and regulations
  • Provide health education regarding health maintenance
  • Prescreen cases requiring review by the Medical Director

Qualifications

  • Valid California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
  • Experience working with the LGBT community and familiarity with relevant LGBT issues
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum two years clinical experience preferred
