Job Details
  • 30-35 average total daily census
  • 5 average daily and nightly admissions
  • 86 hospital beds
  • 9 ICU beds - open ICU
  • 2 Physicians and 1 NP/PA each day (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
  • 1 Nocturnist Physician (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.)
  • Specialty on call 24/7
  • 7 on / 7 off block schedule
  • EMR: McKesson Terigan
  • No procedures required; ED and Hospitalist run codes


Facility Information

Harris Regional Hospital is an 86-bed acute care facility located in Sylva, North Carolina. With a long-standing reputation for excellent care, this facility has been providing care to western North Carolina residents since 1929. Harris offers five major service lines, including orthopedics, cardiology, general surgery, women's care, and emergency medicine, as well as sports medicine, physical therapy, imaging and laboratory services, and many other areas of subspecialty care. Harris Regional Hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.



Community Description

Sylva is a lovely small town in Jackson County, situated amidst the Great Smoky Mountains. Downtown Sylva has many restaurants, breweries, and shops along its tree-lined streets. The town offers plenty of local amenities, low cost of living, and many options for recreational activities. Western Carolina University is seven miles down the road in Cullowhee.
