**Advanced Practice Provider opening in Maine*** * Located in ***Jackman, ME*** - 120 miles from Bangor * Experience the simple pleasures of small town medicine while being surrounded by over 250,000 acres of woodlands! * Full-time, permanent opening * Nationally recognized FQHC * Seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant * Work in a ***highly unique Primary Care and Urgent Care facility*** * Will be 1 of 2 providers for the community - definitely a ***leadership role***! * Services include care management, dental, family medicine, mental health, walk-in care and urgent care **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** * Knowledge of the professional medical practice and care to give and evaluate patient care * Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care * Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care * Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment * Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of medicine to provide on-going patient care * Skill in taking medical history, assessing medical condition and interpreting findings * Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence * Skill in developing and maintaining quality assurance. Ability to maintain quality control standards * Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations * Ability to communicate clearly **Professional Expectations:** * Admit mistakes or missteps openly, own our own behavior, forgive one another, and model vulnerability and humility * Keep discussions about team members, subordinates, and colleagues as well as challenges in the workplace positive, constructive, and factual * Be mindful of employee confidentiality even among peers, and particularly where an issue involves a peer * Only say what you would be willing to say to someone directly * Whenever possible, speak directly to the person with whom you are having a disagreement or a challenge. Do not avoid constructive conflict * Work with your immediate supervisor or HR when you need to process a performance or behavioral situation with a colleague or subordinate and determine best next steps * It is always ok - and usually preferable - to pause, and take time to reflect, before reacting to a situation **Education and Experience:** * Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program * Current license to practice medicine as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in the State of Maine * Current DEA license * Will have up-to-date training and certification in Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Health & Safety Institute. Most obtain within 3 months if not current at hire
