Summary of Duties

Duties include providing services to Post Deployment Health Reassessments and Soldier Readiness clinical services. Will provide services at a walk-in clinic so average patients to be seen is one patient every 15-20 minutes. Shall perform and provide medical exams and treatment, including routine, urgent and emergent problems as they occur. The PA shall assess, diagnose, stabilize and treat diseases and injuries to include, but not limited to the: skin, head, ears, nose, throat, mouth, teeth, neck, cardiovascular system, pulmonary system, gastrointestinal system, lymphatic system, musculoskeletal system, genitourinary system, reproductive system, psychiatric disease, central nervous system, endocrine system, peripheral nervous system. If a condition is above his/her level of training, the PA will consult with a physician in a timely manner. Will perform general physical exams, records findings and determines medical qualifications, recording and maintaining medical records. Prescribes pharmaceuticals as necessary.

Licensure/Certifications

The PA must have and maintain a current, active, valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in one of the fifty states in the US or the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or US Virgin Islands. Must have current DEA registration number. Must be a US Citizen. Shall be a graduate of an educational program accredited by the Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation on behalf of the American Medical Association. Shall be a graduate PA qualified by academic and practical education to provide services as a PA. Must have and maintain BLS and ACLS. Requires at least one year of primary care experience treating patients of all ages, and no more than 12 months since the last work assignment.

Availability

This assignment will begin approximately 4/1/14 for TWO and a HALF years. Hours are 8 hours per day Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM. No on-call required, no scheduled weekend required, no holidays. 1920 hours per year. Primary location is Womack Army Medical Center.
