Prestigious Health System in Greater Boston, MA is hiring an experienced Pulmonary / Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider!
We are looking for a flexible critical care experienced Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant who will work between three different ICUs with a rotating schedule. The schedule is created 3 months in advance with 13 hour shifts.
Candidate Must have a minimum of 1-2 years of critical care experience as an Advanced Practice Provider!
The incumbent needs to be proficient in ventilator management, treatment of shock states, respiratory failure (including ARDS with potential for ECMO), renal failure, liver failure, among other critical illnesses. The unit consist of 12+ closed ICU with only medical patients. VERY busy ICU with high acuity some patients boarding in the SICU . Typically, 2-4 admissions/shift, but can be upwards of 6-8 admission/shift -
The unit is Staffed with two Advanced Practice Providers in the unit splitting the patients (6-8 patients per provider, at times, can be higher in busy acuity months) -Third AP staffed daily who handles all triage calls from within hospital and outside hospitals, as well as responds to all Rapid Response calls -24/7 in house night coverage. -24/7 in house critical care attending back up -24/7 anesthesia for airway emergencies not able to be handled by critical care physician
Central line skills (as well as dialysis catheters) a must for all sites. - Arterial line skills preferred, but can be taught - Additional procedures: thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertion, and intubation
