The nurse practitioner provides leadership in the Noninvasive Cardiac Services Dept with stress test oversight and patient care for 20 hours per week. In addition the APRN provides direct patient care to patients with cardiovascular disease.
Knowledge, skills and dexterity to perform advanced physical assessments, operate equipment essential for diagnostic evaluation. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with clinical and administrative supervisors. Able to manage complex patients with multiple comorbidities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
In collaboration with other members of the care team, coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of standards to enhance the quality of care to the patient and family. Participates in quality systems relevant to nursing practice and patient outcomes. Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy. Evaluation, assessment of complex cardiovascular patients, and orders and prescribes appropriate testing, therapy and evaluation of the plan of care.
40 hrs per week/M-F 8:30am-5pm
Master’s Degree, Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and certified as a nurse practitioner.
2 years required in cardiology ; 4-6 years experience in cardiology preferred.
Current Connecticut RN and APRN license, Current certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a national organization per CT Statutes.
