Job Description

Last Update: 10/11/22

Optum California is looking for Physician Assistants (PA-C's) in the greater Riverside and San Bernardino County regions who would like to be part of our Per Diem pool.

As the holidays approach, we will have a number of shifts open in our Outpatient, Skilled Nursing, and Urgent Care Clinics. There are no expectations for the number of shifts taken during the month - you can pick and choose at your leisure. This is truly a lifestyle position!

How it works:

Our Per Diem roles are employed with Optum California and you are provided malpractice insurance. There is a short telephonic interview process with the operations team and one of our Medical Directors to discuss patient care expectations, our value-based care model and answer any questions about the Optum landscape what typical shifts look like.

If there is a mutual match, we will draft you a Per Diem employment agreement. Once the employment agreement is signed, the onboarding and credentialing process will begin. Completion of both takes approximately 30-40 days. Upon receipt of favorable credentialing and a cleared background check, we will provide dates for a paid orientation and training on our EMR and internal systems.

After completion of the above, your contact information will be entered into our shift queue, and you will receive regular communications about open and upcoming shifts. If you are interested in picking up the shift, all you need to do is respond and we will coordinate with the site or Urgent Care.

*Please note, hourly pay rates for shifts will vary depending on location and modality of care. Compensation and differentials will be included in the open shift emails.
