Company History
In 1998 DR. Khalil Afsh opened Premier Medical clinic. An onsite lab and an exercise heart stress testing machine were installed as the Premier Medical practice evolved.
Soon after, the Premier clinic relocated to its current location, the old Lockhart building.
Dr. Joanna Yao joined Pediatric Practice in 1999.
In the year 2000, Randy Hearne, ARNP, and Lori Hearne, ARNP, joined Premier Clinic, and Lori Hearne, ARNP, joined the Pediatric practice.
The Pediatric and Primary Care Clinic established a clinical location for the Florida State University College of Medicine in 2001.
The Pediatric and Primary Care Clinic was designated as a clinical site for the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2002.
In 2003, the Ultrasound/Echo service was implemented.
In May 2003, Dr. Toufic Abdo was welcomed to the clinic as a result of the clinic’s ongoing expansion.
The TMH Residency Program added the Pediatric and Primary Care clinic as a clinical site in 2004.
With the extra room, X-ray, MRI, and nuclear examinations might be added.
Dr. Yu joined the office in July 2006, followed by Dr. Sofi in August 2006.
In December 2006, CT services were added.
Dr. Khalil Afsh surrendered Premier Medical Clinic ownership to Laurie Santana and Dr. Khodr on May 19, 2008.
Dr. Abdul Sofi joins Dr. Khodr and Laurie Santana as a Managing Partner in Premier Medical Clinic in September 2009.
Dr. Shiva Mahinrad left the practice in September 2009, and Dr. Alka Seth joined Premier.
Hillary Byrd, ARNP, left the practice in November 2009.
Dr. Abdul Sofi takes over as the new proprietor of the Medical Practice in July 2013.
Dr. Bilal Khodr departed the practice in January 2014.
Linda Bickel, ARNP, left the Pediatric practice in May 2014.
In 2014, Celeste Lind, ARNP, Patricia Seagraves, PA, and Sheila Hinton, ARNP, all joined the practice.
Pamela Sauls, MD, joined the practice in January 2015.
Premier Medical welcomed Laura Smith and Sharon Schlick in 2018.
