Adventist Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Infectious Disease physician to join our telemedicine team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infectious diseases and be passionate about delivering exceptional care remotely. As a Telemedicine Infectious Disease Provider, you will play a pivotal role in diagnosing, treating, and managing infectious diseases through virtual consultations with patients in our Northern California locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual consultations with patients to assess symptoms, diagnose infectious diseases, and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based medical recommendations and prescribe appropriate medications for infectious diseases, considering patient history, risk factors, and current guidelines.
  • Educate patients about infectious diseases, preventive measures, treatment options, and potential complications, ensuring they are empowered to make informed healthcare decisions.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and ensure continuity of treatment for patients.
  • Utilize telemedicine technology and electronic health records (EHR) systems effectively to document patient encounters, review medical history, and communicate with the healthcare team.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in infectious diseases, emerging pathogens, treatment modalities, and public health recommendations to deliver evidence-based care.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice, maintain patient confidentiality, and uphold patient rights and privacy in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Infectious Diseases.
  • Valid medical license in California.
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and treating infectious diseases in clinical settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Proficiency in using telemedicine platforms and digital health tools for virtual consultations.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centered care, promoting health equity, and advocating for public health initiatives.
  • Manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Willingness to adhere to telemedicine regulations, policies, and guidelines governing remote medical practice.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in telemedicine or remote patient care.
  • Bilingual proficiency in languages commonly spoken by patient populations served.
  • Research experience or involvement in clinical trials related to infectious diseases.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, professional growth, and collaboration within a virtual healthcare team.

Wage Scale: $261,000-339,000/year
