Job Title: Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Location: Sunshine Pediatrics, Silver Spring, Maryland

Position Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (Closed for lunch from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm)

Overview:

Sunshine Pediatrics in Silver Spring, Maryland, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about pediatric patient care, possess excellent clinical skills, and be committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive healthcare services to our diverse pediatric population.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations on pediatric patients, including well-child visits, sick visits, behavioral, ADHD and follow-up appointments.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries in pediatric patients.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests and imaging studies, as needed.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and provide patient education and counseling to promote wellness and prevent illness.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and quality care for pediatric patients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system diligently and in a timely manner.
• Provide on-call coverage on a monthly rotation basis, (1-2 calls per month).
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to address their concerns and provide support and guidance.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) from a recognized certifying body.
• Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in a clinical setting.
• Board certified in Pediatrics.
• Active Maryland license and DEA registration.
• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
• Reside within a 30-minute commute from the practice location.
