Majority of COPD Patients Have Chronic Comorbid Illness

Patients with chronic respiratory illness are at increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetes, and hypertension, research shows. In fact, more than half of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) have at least one of these comorbid conditions, according to findings reported in the October issue of the European Respiratory Journal.
