Meningitis in Infancy Affects Subsequent Academic Achievement

Compared to others, children who survived meningitis in infancy are significantly less likely to pass school-graduation exams, according to a study published in the November issue of the Archives of Disease in Childhood. Even meningitis survivors who seemed to be normal at age 5 are at increased risk for poor academic performance. Reuters Health Information
