Urologist - Physician - (Urology - Urol) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 12/16/2013Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

An Urologist is needed to provide clinic and surgical services on a locum tenens basis at this Veterans Affairs Medical Center starting as soon as credentialing can be completed. The assignment would last for six months, or until a permanent candidate can be identified. Working hours are from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

A urologist (locum tenens) treats conditions that affect urinary tracts and reproductive systems of men and women, including organs such as the uterus, urethra, and urinary bladder. These physicians generally work in private practice and their patients are referred to them through primary care or family physicians. Urologists make use of a range of medical technology to assist them in diagnoses, such as x-rays and catheters. They will prescribe medication, physical therapy, make nutritional recommendations and even perform surgeries when necessary.

Required Qualifications
The physician shall be either board certified or board eligible in Urology and have active basic and advanced life support certifications prior to the start date.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with the veteran population is considered a plus.
