Telepsychiatrist - Physician - (Psychiatry - Telemedicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 04/01/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Correctional facility in North Carolina needs telemedicine inpatient Psychiatrist starting as soon as possible. Coverage is for 2 - 3 days a week Monday - Friday 8 am-5 pm, no weekends and no call. The physician will see adult inmates; perform evaluations, rounding, consults and medication management. The Psychiatrist will see perform telemedicine services from one location to remote facilities in the state. Call Staff Care today if you would like to hear more about this opportunity.

Telepsychiatry (locum tenens) is the practice of telemedicine in the field of psychiatry. For adults, telepsychiatry can help in cases where adults are not able to get to a hospital for service, live outside of rural areas, and are needing care for issues and/or disorders. Using technology, in telepsychiatry a psychiatrist will have a two-way video conferencing system to visit with the adult patient. This type of technology is becoming more readily used as the number of psychiatrists is limited in many areas.

Required Qualifications
Diagnose and provide ongoing medication management for consumers with mental illness, emotional and behavioral disorders, substance abuse issues and/or chronic health conditions.

Timely and accurate completion of psychiatric evaluations, treatment plans, authorizations, and related documentation as needed.



Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a correctional facility.

Will work 2 - 3 days a week telemedicine services.
