Our Telemedicine Physician provides patient care via synchronous audio and video or only audio. The provider abides by the applicable standards and requirements of CCS and the security regulations of the institution to which assigned. Provides required documentation of services in order to monitor services provided and compliance with contract specific requirements. Able to work under pressure and able to relate well to patients, security, visitors, and coworkers.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Doctorate

Experience:

  • Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Public Health preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Must have and maintain 2-3 current state licensures within the State in which the patient resides.
  • Maintains a current DEA number.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
  • Must maintain privileges.
  • Maintains CME requirements for continued medical practice in the State.
Responsibilities Supports standards of correctional medical care through adherence to existing policies and procedures. Supervisors care given by other licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel providing instructions, and direction as needed. Serves as a supervisory physician or collaborative physician for Physician Assistants and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners in compliance with state specific regulatory requirements. Reviews and uses the approved treatment guidelines, or clinical policies and procedures. Provides care to maintain Chronic Care Clinics that assure compliance with NCCHC and/or ACA standards, contracting agency requirements as well as CCS policies and procedures. Adheres to the established formulary for therapeutic regimens before utilizing non-formulary procedures. The above responsibilities are a highlight of responsibilities and not a full list.
