Surgeon - (Surgery - General) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
The Indian Health Center in northeast Arizona is in need of a full time General Surgeon to begin services as soon as credentialing can be completed 3 months with the option to extend. The Surgeon must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with the American Board of Surgery. Any State license is accepted for this opportunity.
A general surgeon(locum tenens) is trained and qualified to perform a wide range of surgical procedures and thus must be familiar with a wealth of medical conditions and treatments. These surgeons may be tasked with operations ranging from burn trauma to vascular surgery, though they do not usually perform highly complex surgical operations, such as treatments of the heart or brain, which are performed by specialized surgeons.
Required Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgery
DEA, BLS, ACLS required

This 60-bed Indian Health Services facility serves as the main healthcare provider in the region, providing care to over 35,000 residents (mostly members of the Navajo Nation). The facility offers comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care and a wide range of specialties, including general surgery, obstetrics, and a 24/7 ER.
Facility Location
The name of Chinle comes from the Navajo "flowing out," a reference to the Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Chinle is the closest town to Canyon de Chelly and visitors to the city will no doubt want to take in its splendor. Taking a hike to the White House Ruins or Spider Rock offers spectators and thrill seekers a wealth of breathtaking sights. Sports fans will want to check out the Wild Cat Den where local basketball is a competitive favorite.
