Welcome to King City! General Surgeon Opportunity in Mt. Vernon, Illinois!
As the incoming surgeon, you’ll have the option of joining the hospital or build a solo practice. You’ll practice a broad range of general surgery procedures including, scopes and laparoscopic in the hospital as well as see patients in the office, with office space available close to the hospital campus. Currently there are seven surgeons on staff with one planning retirement in the near future and you’ll have a shared call rotation of 1:6. Hospital has 24 hour Anesthesia coverage, 4 ORs, OR time block schedule with open times.
In return for your training and expertise, you’ll receive a comprehensive financial package including salary and bonus incentives along with full benefits. Benefits include: vacation, malpractice insurance, CME, signing and/or commencement bonus, health insurance, potential for medical education repayment assistance and more.
Additionally you’ll live in True Americana! Mt. Vernon, or "King City", is the area’s cultural, entertainment, business, and financial center of the area. Just minutes from some of the finest outdoor recreation in the Midwest, the Rend Lake Recreation area, offers fishing, boating, and hunting paradise for the outdoor enthusiast. Cultural offerings include the magnificent Cedarhurst Center for the Arts complex that features the art museum, sculpture park, programs and events including the nationally acclaimed Cedarhurst Craft Fair held each fall on the weekend after Labor Day. The Jefferson County Historical Village offers a look back into the history of the settlers of the area and their lifestyle with authentic log cabins and a museum interpretive center. Other attractions include: the Appellate Courthouse where Abraham Lincoln represented clients, the C.E.
