This leadership opportunity is located in one of the most sought after communities in the country. Be an integral faculty member for a world-class university, a thriving medical center and one the country’s leaders in transplantation services.

We are seeking a cardiologist that is board certified, or has the equivalent experience in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. As Director of the University Heart Failure Program, you will coordinate medical evaluation and management of end stage heart failure patients and supervise the long-term management of these patients. You will serve as the leader of hospital-wide efforts at improvement in care quality and outcomes in heart failure patients cared for at the university hospital and in the university health system, as well as supervising the staff charged with management of program staff involved in the chronic disease management program for heart failure.
  • Excellent collaborative environment—work with highly trained colleagues, experts in the field—physicians from different specialties at the university work together to provide patients with the best care
  • Ranked in the top 50 U.S. hospitals in seven medical specialties, U.S. News & World Report, “America’s Best Hospitals 2013â€â€”ranked as “high-performing†in 5 additional specialty areas and as the top hospital in the state
  • The Division of Cardiology has a total of 50 faculty members, offering fellowship training in CV Medicine, Interventional Cardiology, Clinical Cardiac EP and Heart Failure
  • The heart transplant program is one of the largest and most successful in the U.S., performing around 20 transplants per year, and over 600 heart transplants performed at the university, to date

Both a state capital and a college town, this beautiful community provides a high quality of life, with excellent schools, a wide variety of arts and entertainment, and ready access to nature and recreation. With more than 120 distinct neighborhood associations working together to protect each other, safety is prevalent wherever you go. Residents move freely outdoors, riding the city’s plentiful bike paths, cross-country skiing under the lights at the city’s largest trail, or paddling kayaks.
