Vascular Surgeon - (Surgery - Vascular) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 09/15/2014Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

This Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the hills of the Allegheny Mountains seeks a vascular surgeon to provide services while their regular staff recruitment efforts are in progress. Normal working hours are from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday as well as rotation on-call responsibilities.

Specializing in the treatment of diseases and conditions that affect the arteries and veins, such as coronary heart disease and pulmonary embolism, a vascular surgeon(locum tenens) performs medical procedures that repair and remove blockages from arteries and veins. Vascular surgeons must be licensed by the USMLE and have completed both general surgery residencies and fellowships in advanced vascular surgery training.

Required Qualifications
The physician shall be board certified or board eligible in vascular surgery and have an active BLS and ACLS prior to the start date. Because this is a federal facility, a license from any US state is acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the veteran population is considered a plus.
