Vascular Surgeon needed at a VAMC facility in West Virginia. The Vascular Surgeon will provide clinical services three days per week for 20-25 patients per day, on average, and the patients may be any combination of scheduled or unscheduled, outpatient or inpatient. The Vascular Surgeon will provide surgical services two days per week for 3-7 patients per day, on average, depending on case size and complexity. The Vascular Surgeon will provide services for patients from a wide range of ages, backgrounds and diagnoses; therefore, competence in the examination and treatment of patients will be demonstrated through performing angiographic, vascular surgical procedures and endovascular procedures (both perioperative and in collaboration with Interventional Radiology, following patients through the full continuum of care including admissions and discharges, assisting in the coordination of diagnostic tests prior to a surgical procedure, educating and counseling the patient and family members, overseeing the administration of moderate sedation, mentoring and teaching residents, and other tasks inherent toThe Vascular Surgeon performing the services of this task order shall have completed an ACGME or AOA accredited residency or fellowship in Vascular Surgery. Board certification in Vascular Surgery by the American Board of Surgery is preferred, but not required.
