Harris Medical Associates is seeking a qualified Vascular and Thoracic surgeon for the VAMC in Martinsburg, WV.
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday -Friday
Also, the Contractor shall furnish contracted provider services for emergency services outside normal tour of duty, which include evenings, weekends and holiday call.
The Physician will be providing direct patient care and Resident Supervision and training.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities to be provided are, but not limited to:
. Provides evaluation, diagnosis, pre-operative, operative, and postoperative management in the following areas: Vascular system (excluding the intracranial vessels, the heart, and those vessels intrinsic and immediately adjacent thereto); endocrine system; surgical oncology (including coordinated multimodality management of the cancer patient by screening, surveillance, surgical adjunctive therapy, rehabilitation, and follow-up) management of trauma.
. Provide care and treatment of patients in the inpatient/outpatient settings as required by their specialty,
. Write appropriate physician orders, including but not limited to:
a. Laboratory tests
b. Diagnostic procedures, including but not limited to:
i. Radiology and nuclear medicine
ii. Consultations from other specialties
iii. Medications, from approved formulary list
. Give professional direction to the nursing staff.
. Provide Vascular Surgery for inpatient and outpatient care of the veteran at the Martinsburg VAMC.
. Contractor shall perform pre-operative and post-operative visits; emergency and in-house consultations
shall be provided when acting as attending on call or when necessary.
