Board Certified/Eligible Urologist - The Hunter Holmes McGuire Department of Veterans Affairs Medical is seeking a urologist to join our busy surgical service. Qualified applicants will be experienced in all aspects of general urology, including major and minor surgery as well as routine outpatient procedures. Fellowship training is a plus. Supervision of residents and advanced practice providers is expected. The Section of Urology serves as one of the 2 teaching hospitals in the VCU Division of Urology which is a section of the Department of Surgery and consists of 6 part time physicians, 3 residents, 4 midlevel providers, 5 GU techs and 2 GU nurses. 24/7 resident coverage, 24/7 intensivist coverage, and 24/7 in-house hospitalists. The candidate should possess experience supervising and educating surgical residents. Duties include: Direct patient care on inpatient acute care wards, outpatient clinics, and in the operating suite Supervision of housestaff and students Opportunities for clinical research Candidates must be eligible for academic appointment at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine.
