Colorectal Surgeon
Job Description:
-Mid to senior level faculty position
-Develop a large practice related to inflammatory bowel disease, hindgut malignancies and pelvic floor disorders in a multi-disciplinary environment
-Supervising and teaching residents and fellows in all areas of Colon and rectal surgery and applied anatomy and physiology
-Establish clinical research projects and develop interdisciplinary collaborations to enhance the research program at VCU
Qualifications
-Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
-Must have completed a Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery
-Demonstrates a strong interest and expertise in teaching and clinical practice
-Experience in minimally invasive surgery is preferred
-Experience in anal physiology and pelvic floor disorders is preferred
The Colon and Rectal Surgery Section of the Division is also comprised of a multidisciplinary team offering surgical care for Colon, Rectal and Peri-Anal Cancer, Pelvic Floor Disorders, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD; Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis), Diverticulitis, and all Benign Peri-anal diseases.
Research and continuing medical education remain a steadfast component of evidence-based patient care and outstanding outcomes. As such, our internationally respected faculty members conduct funded clinical and translational research and teach other surgeons the most modern techniques in the field of minimally invasive surgery. We offer an accredited fellowship program in Advanced GI and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
