Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 03/30/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A hospital system in Southern Minnesota is looking for a diagnostic radiologist to provide ongoing weekly locums coverage from late March through July 2015. The radiologists may need to work between two different sites that are close in proximity. The hours are 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday for a 9 hour day. The radiologist will take evening call from 5pm to 10 in rotation with the other radiologists. In addition, there may be a need for the radiologist to work some weekend shifts from 8am to 12pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The radiologist will need to read all modalities, the site may be able to work around mammography. This is typically a team environment, but there may be a few times when the radiologist is solo. The daily volume averages 100- 110 studies with a breakdown of 52 plain film, 14 ultrasound, 6 MR, 23 mammograms, and 12 cat scans. The radiologists does not have to perform interventional work. The PACS is Siemens and the voice recognition system is Powerscribe 360

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
