Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 12/22/2014Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Radiology group in southern California needs coverage for December 22-26. The worksite is a community hospital 8am to 5pm (Christmas day may be a shorter day) and there will be no on call. The radiologist must be board certified and be able to read all diagnostic modalities except mammography. The average volume a day is around 100 studies consisting of 30 cat scans, 20 ultrasounds, 4-10 MR, 2-3 nuclear medicine, and the remainder plain film. The radiologists will need to do interventional procedures as well consisting of PICC lines, IVC filters, and Permcaths. There will be no call and the PACS is GE Centricity and the voice recognition is Nuance Powerscribe.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
