Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 05/15/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Radiology group in West Texas is in need of diagnostic radiology locums coverage. The coverage will start January 2015 and will begin at 2-3 weeks per month January 2015 to May of 2015. After that timeframe, the group is hoping the radiologist will be able to cover up to 5 weeks per year for vacations. The hours are 8am to 5pm, no call and there is a possibility of weekends if the group has a comfort level with the radiologist. Board certification is required. The volume is 100 studies per day consisting of 8 cat scan, 15 ultrasound, 7 MRI, and 3-5 nuclear medicine, rest are PF. Mammo can be worked around if not MQSA. The radiologist will need to also be able to perform light interventional procedures such as lumbar punctures, barium studies, and drainages. They use a McKesson PACS and a transcriptionist.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
