Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 02/23/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A radiology group in East Texas is looking for a board certified diagnostic radiologist to start in January 2015 for 1-2 weeks a month, ongoing. The radiologist will be working at one hospital reading 65-80 reads per day, including 10 CAT scans, 10 ultrasounds, 5-7 MRIs, 2-4 nuclear medicine studies, and the remainder are plain film. It would be helpful to be MQSA certified, but not required. The radiologist will also perform 4 procedures a week, usually paracentesis, thoracentesis, and mylograms. The hours on Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, no call or weekends. They use McKesson and Powerscribe.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
