Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 02/07/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Hospital in western Virginia is looking for ongoing coverage for weekend shifts. Saturdays and Sundays 8am to 5pm, no call. The radiologists will be working in a team environment reading an average of 100 studies per day. The breakdown by modalities are 68 plain film, 20 cat scan, 2 MR, and 1 ultrasound. No mammography and no procedures. The radiologist will have to read nuclear medicine studies and vascular ultrasound. The PACS system is Agfa and the voice recognition is Powerscribe 360. Looking for coverage starting January 2015.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
