Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 06/01/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Small hospital in central Virginia with low volume is looking for ongoing coverage starting April 2015 for 2 weeks every six weeks. The diagnostic radiologist must be board certified and be able to read all modalities except mammography. There will be some nuclear medicine studies and vascular ultrasound. The position is 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday with nightly call, no weekends or weekend call. There will be back up call to nighthawk. The breakdown of modalities are 50 plain film, 11 cat scan, 4 MR, 4 nuclear medicine, and 4 ultrasound. There will be minor procedures including fluro cases. The PACS is Agfa and the voice recognition is Powerscribe 360.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
