Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 01/03/2015Available Shifts: 12 Hour/Day

Ongoing diagnostic radiologist coverage is needed in southern Georgia to cover weekends. The coverage is on-site at a hospital 8am to 9pm Saturday and Sundays. Nighthawk comes on at 9pm. In addition, the radiologist can leave a little earlier on Sunday evenings if needed to travel home. There will be no mammography and no procedures. The radiologist will read an average of 160 studies per day. The majority are plain film with 15 to 20 ultrasound, 40-50 catscan, 1-3 MR, and 1-2 nuclear medicine studies. The PACS is GE Centricity and they use a transcriptionist.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
