Job Description & Requirements
Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 01/05/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A women's imaging locum radiologist is needed at a large hospital in New Hampshire. The position will start January 1, 2015 and will continue until July 2015. The hours are Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5pm, no weekends, and no call. A breast fellowship is preferred, but not required as long as the radiologist has significant concentrated breast experience. The radiologist must be board certified and also be tomo accredited. To give an idea of the volume a half day would include one of the following: 10 Diagnostic patients (mammograms and/or ultrasounds) or 5 procedures (mix of needle localizations, ultrasound biopsies, stereotactic and Tomo guided biopsies, occasional MRI guided biopsies), or 45-60 mammograms (up to 20 tomograms). The site uses a transcriptionist, but will be moving to Powerscribe next year. The site can work around tomo and MRI guided biopsies, but ultrasound biopsies, stereotactic biopsies, and interpreting breast MR are a must.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
