The VA Puget Sound Health Care System located in Seattle, Washington and the Department of Radiology at the University of Washington are recruiting a full-time physician without tenure at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor to join our Diagnostic Imaging Service (DIS) as Staff Radiologist. The position will be located at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle and American Lake Divisions, with 100% of hours spent working for the VA hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical coverage of the Diagnostic Imaging Service. Duties include interpreting conventional radiographs, CT/CTA, MRI/MRA (including MR arthrograms) and Ultrasound exams. The radiologist will also perform GI/GU fluoroscopic procedures, US/CT guided biopsies and joint injections. The candidate is expected to contribute to weekly interdepartmental multidisciplinary clinical conferences, including Tumor Board, Urology, GI-Surgery, Orthopedics, Hepatology and Rheumatology. Instruction of radiology technology students, medical students, radiology residents, and body imaging fellows will be required. The candidate will take on administrative duties in addition to teaching, clinical and research responsibilities. This is a 100% VA employment and will require on-call duties including after hours, Saturday, Sunday and other holidays as assigned. Candidates for this position must hold an M.D. (or equivalent degree) and possess or be eligible for full medical licensure in Washington State. The successful physician applicant must be certified by the American Board of Radiology (or equivalent). The successful applicant will possess fellowship training in musculoskeletal radiology and demonstrate successful clinical experience in all aspects of musculoskeletal imaging and procedures. Fellowship training in body imaging with clinical experience and mastery of musculoskeletal imaging will also be considered. Competency and experience in the area of diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound is highly preferred. The successful candidate will also possess excellent clinical, teaching and interpersonal skills, and have a strong interest or background in academic radiology.
