Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
A hospital in coastal South Carolina is needing help starting July 5th for a period of a couple months. The coverage needed will be 2-3 weeks per month flexible on the dates. There are two radiologists working at this site one primarily handles mammography and the other primarily handles procedures. The days are Monday to Friday either 7am to 4pm or 9am to 6pm, the shifts rotate daily. No call and no weekends. This site is 50-60 studies per day, but there is a high expectation of customer service toward the referring physicians and the cases are typically complicated. The average daily volume is 10-15 plain films, 10 cat scans, 12 Ultrasounds, 5 MR, and 20 mammograms. The procedures are stereotactic breast biopsies, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and thyroid biopsies. The average number of procedures is about 5-6 per day between two people. The radiologist must be MQSA and tomo certified. The PACS system is McKesson.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
