Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
A community hospital southeast of Indianapolis is in need of diagnostic radiologist coverage starting as soon as possible. This is a team environment and the hours are Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm every week ongoing with the possibility of a couple weekends. The need will last 3 months minimum, possibly longer. The weekends are half days on site 8am to 12pm Saturday and Sunday. No weeknight or weekend call. There are multiple locations, but the group reads off a shared work list. The PACS is about to change to a new system and the site uses a transcriptionist. The radiologist must be able to read all diagnostic modalities and be MQSA Certified with light interventional work. All three locations including nights and weekends does just over 101,000 studies per year. The breakdown is 50% plain film, 18% cat scan, 11% ultrasound, 6% MR, 12 % mammography, and 3% nuclear medicine. The procedures consist of GI exams, arthograms, drainages, biopsies, and myelograms.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
