ABDOMINAL RADIOLOGIST
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) is currently seeking candidates for the position of abdominal radiologist. The OSUWMC Department of Radiology offers a competitive salary enhanced with an attractive benefits package, including educational opportunities through The OSU.
The responsibilities of this position include interpreting abdominal imaging: abdominal radiography, abdominal and pelvic computed tomography, abdominal and pelvic magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound in general. In addition, the candidate should be versed in advanced imaging in these modalities. Ability to perform fluoroscopic gastrointestinal and genitourinary studies is required. Interventional capabilities are desirable, though not required. Body interventional procedures are optional. Clinical services will be performed primarily in a teaching setting with trainee participation.
The candidate should be able to prepare and present didactic lectures to trainees. Participation in scholarly activities such as research projects and presentations at national meetings may be required. Contributions to the operation of the department and the abdominal section are expected. Successful interface with technologists, colleagues and clinicians is desirable.
The OSUWMC is one of the largest and most diverse medical centers in the country and the only academic medical center in central Ohio and Columbus (Ohio’s largest and most rapidly growing metropolitan region); it is currently in a phase of rapid expansion of its programs in order to fulfill its academic missions. The Department of Radiology is benefitting from concurrent growth/improvements in: 1. Ambulatory facilities with excellent imaging capabilities; 2. Existing clinical spaces; and 3. New facilities through a $1.1 Billion expansion of both its NCI-designated Cancer program (along with support of critical care) and Emergency services. The Department of Radiology has diverse state-of-the-art clinical imaging capabilities, including CT (e.g. dual-source/multi-energy), MR (e.g. 3.0T), and nuclear imaging (e.g. PET-CT). The Department of Radiology and Imaging Signature Program together also provide extraordinary clinical and basic research opportunities on-campus within the Wright Center of Innovation in Biomedical Imaging which includes a 7T MRI and which recently added a large Molecular Imaging Agent Research and Production Facility, housing 2 cyclotrons dedicated to advanced radiopharmaceutical research.
Job Requirements
MD or DO; Successful completion of Fellowship in Abdominal Imaging. Candidates must have technical expertise with CT, MRI, fluoroscopy and Ultrasound. The ability to work in collaboration as a team including participation in research projects. A commitment to quality clinical care, research and teaching for the department’s residency and fellowship programs is imperative. Appointment rank and salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
