The successful candidate will provide comprehensive interventional care, image interpretation and related patient care services within the scope of the Radiology/Interventional Service. Individual procedures performed will be consistent with selected providers granted privileges and based upon individual training, qualifications, and experience. In addition to the performance of procedures consistent with privileges granted, the selected individual will be responsible for performing duties to include, but not limited to the following: Reviews IR consults including utilization management, ensuring appropriate pre- and post-procedural workups, and technical oversight for technologists; Provides oversight for overall safety of patients including establishing protocols, contrast administration and response to adverse patient reactions, timely interpretation and communication of imaging results, and notifications of critical findings; Provides consultative services for referring physicians; Provides comparative reports as requested; Participates in clinical conferences and committees; Participates in quality control and quality management including department and hospital level peer review activities; Participates actively in the teaching and training of house staff, medical students, residents and academic affiliates assigned to Imaging Service; and Participates in additional research and administrative duties as assigned by the Imaging Service Chief. Provides on call coverage for emergency Interventional Radiology procedures Provides oversight of inventory management in Interventional Radiology Must meet qualifications for academic appointment with teaching program affiliate at the Assistant Professor level or higher. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical requirements of this position include occasional lifting, prolonged standing and sitting, frequent bending, walking (distance), climbing, reaching (overhead, extensive/repetitive), repetitive motion, and stooping. The mental/sensory requirements include recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, and logical thinking. The environment's pace can vary from steady to a sometimes fast pace requiring handling of multiple priorities, frequent, sometimes intense customer interactions, and the ability to adapt to frequent changes in a sometimes noisy environment. There may be an occasional need to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to disease, illness, and hazardous materials.
