Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Radiology group outside Nashville is looking for weekly ongoing radiologist coverage starting January 2016 until a permanent hire is made and on-boarded. Radiologist must be board certified. The ideal situation is a radiologist who can read all modalities, mammography is preferred, and perform light interventional procedures. This is a busy practice with an average daily volume of 110 studies a day comprised of 40 plain film, 20 MR, 20 Cat scan, 20 ultrasound and 10 nuclear medicine. The interventional procedures range from zero to 4 per day and the numbers of studies that need to be read will be adjusted accordingly. Procedures consist of ultrasound guided biopsies, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and drainages. Certain procedures can be worked around. There will be 1 night a week of call reading diagnostic studies until 11pm and no weekend call. The group uses McKesson PACS and transcription.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
