Job Description & Requirements
Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 02/15/2016Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Outpatient Imaging center in Alaska will need locums coverage to help cover vacations in 2016 two weeks per month ongoing. The clients preference is to have the same physician covering both week blocks each month, and open to find a couple candidates who are a good fit and we can utilize them on a regular basis. The worksite requires MRI, CT, PF, and US. It is a heavily slanted MSK practice and they do a fair amount of interventional radiology. They will need a candidate who is currently comfortable performing at least basic interventional procedures (arthrograms, myelograms, epidural spinal injections, and basic joint steroid injections). It is helpful to have someone who is comfortable doing biopsies and aspirations but they can work around this as needed. The daily volume of work will range around- MRI: 6-10/day , CT: 5-10/day, US: 5-7/day, PF: 5-10/day. Procedures will be scheduled as needed. Must have an AK license.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
